Great savings on replacement Porter Cable Power Tool PartsWhere is my model number?
Porter-Cable has come a long way from their humble beginnings as a small machine and tool shop based in Syracuse, NY. Founded in 1906 by R.E. Porter, G.G. Porter, and F.E. Cable, the company operated out of a small garage on a $2,300 investment ($59,321 in 2017, adjusted for inflation). The company shifted their focus towards power tools in 1914 with a new line of power lathes. Porter-Cable’s Chief Engineer, Art Emmons is the man responsible for two radical and innovative inventions in the power tools industry, the first portable belt sander and the first helical-drive circular saw; a design that is still widely used today. The end of the 1980s saw mass exposure for the brand. Porter-Cable released the first electric random orbital sander in 1989 and entered business relations with home improvement retail chain giants including The Home Depot and Lowe’s. With the acquisition of the DeVilbiss Air Power Company in 2000, Porter-Cable expanded their product line to include a new series of air compressors, pneumatic air tools, generators, and power washers. In 2004, Porter-Cable was sold to Black & Decker and is now a member of the Black & Decker family of brands.
